Indefinite and Definite

The English language uses articles to identify nouns. There are two types of articles in English:

The definite article: the (specific)

The indefinite article: a, an (non-specific)

There are no definite and indefinite articles in ancient Egyptian.

Because ancient Egyptian lacks these articles, qualifying nouns and adjectives as either definite or indefinite when translating into English is often based on context.

In this course both translations are demonstrated.

"the strong man"

or

"a strong man"
